CEV65M-00399, an SSI absolute encoder from the 1990s, with solution

CEV65M-00399, a TR launch of theSSI Absolute Encoders. It's a very early encoder, introduced around '90. From the information, it's kind of a regular product, just a bit low on multi-turns.

The resolution of this encoder is: 1024*4096. the number of multi-turns is 1024, now basically 4096 is standard. After all, it is a product of 30 years ago.

Some of our customers still use this encoder in some of their older equipment, which creates the need for a replacement. We have received two customers using this product and have given alternative solutions.

This encoder is a 65mm OD product, but the flange is 36mm, so it is actually possible to use a 58mm OD encoder as a direct replacement. The difference of only 6 mm in flange diameter is sometimes not significant.

For the first customer, we realized the replacement with a 58mm flange. But for the second customer, he was not so willing and still wanted a 65mm flange. This customer is far away from Brazil, he is a trader and does not know the product, he just wants to restore it as much as possible. We satisfied his request and made a 65mm flange with a machining center.
