The new EB260: Baumer's revolutionary encoder technology

BaumerOpen up new potential in drive technology with innovative low-harmonic encoder technology. The compact incremental magnetic ring encoder EB260 is the first product to utilize this revolutionary signal processing technology. This bearingless encoder combines the high precision of optical sensing with the durability and cost-effectiveness of a magnetic system and takes up very little space for installation. Low-harmonic signal processing with automatic calibration eliminates signal errors due to mounting, temperature, aging and mechanical factors to ensure the highest accuracy and control performance. The integrated air gap monitor continuously monitors the distance to the magnetic rotor. Even the slightest changes due to damage to the mechanical structure can be monitored and reported to the superior system.

The EB260 magnetic encoder is extremely robust due to its bearingless design and fully sealed electronics. It operates completely wear-free, without self-heating and is unaffected by shaft currents, strong shocks and shaft displacements. Flexible shaft diameters and a mounting depth of only 11 mm enable extremely compact integration and, thanks to the excellent measuring accuracy, open up innovative application potential in the field of drive technology.

Another major advantage of this space-saving, high-performance encoder is its configuration flexibility. The software behind it includes intuitiveBaumerSensor suite, configurable motion monitor and switching outputs, and square wave, sine/cosine, and IO-Link interfaces.
